The western church and the atheist victory

There is a well used adage that all evil needs to triumph is that good men do nothing. But there is something even worse – when good men see evil for decade after decade and still do nothing.  Such is the state of the western Church.  In the NIV, Jeremiah 3, starting at verse 6, is headed ‘unfaithful Israel’.  Few Christians would see a parallel between the Israel God judged with invasion and captivity and the western Church over the last 50 years.  Israel and Judah actively aligned themselves with foreign powers, embracing their gods and their ways in the hope it would bring them peace, security and acceptability.  They ignored God’s prophets who warned them to hold to their covenant with their God and forsake their infatuation with foreign cultures.

The contemporary Church has been thoroughly unfaithful.  To garner acceptability it has embraced the declining values of a failing western culture.  No good has come of it.  Its silence or complicity has aided the liberal and atheistic cause by failing to stand in its way.  Moral and spiritual cowardice has marked its way. If God were to send another Jeremiah or an Ezekiel to speak to today’s church, predicting what they would probably say is not difficult.  Here is the short list:

  • If you love your God, return to obedience to his commands:  Stop committing adultery and divorcing the wife of your youth. Honour your bodies as his temple.  Stop your promiscuity and reject homosexuality.
  • Judge situations on the basis of God’s commands.  Do not claim you are not to judge on matters on which God has already judged, providing you are not acting hypocritically.
  • Stand against the teaching of evolution.  Believe in an old earth if you must, but do not forsake the fact that God committed six literal acts of creation. Defend God as creator.
  • Do not remain silent any longer on the false god Allah and his false prophet. Tear down the pretentious arguments and practices ranged against the true God in the West by this satanic faith.
  • Stop supporting the politicians and political parties, that continue with laws and policies God hates, with your vote.
  • Publicly tell the people what is good and what is evil – to love God is to hate evil.
  • Stop preaching a gospel of relationship and centre it instead on repentance from sin and Jesus as Lord.
  • Leaders! Stop cloistering God’s people in your entertainment citadels.  Equip them properly to defend the faith(Jude 3) and proclaim the gospel of the kingdom.Send them out to be bold and courageous.
  • Publicly and relentlessly bring down the pretentious arguments ranged against God by prominent atheists.

Joyce Meyer: The false doctrine heretic

In a recent Huffington Post article American pastor Rick Henderson ‘came out’ to name both Joyce Meyer and Joel Osteen as false teachers.  This is significant.  Few pastors are willing to defend the truth today. Truth Watch has been lamenting this fact for over 12 years.  Most of them are more afraid of incurring the wrath of some segment of their congregation than they are the wrath of God.

Pastor Rick lists 6 examples of Meyer’s gross error.  Perhaps the worst are the last two where she admits her teaching on Jesus and hell are not found in the Bible – they have come to her by ‘special revelation’.  She also claims she is now no longer a sinner and prescribes that you have to believe what she says about Jesus and hell to be saved.  Taken together Meyer is claiming that she is, contrary to Scripture, a sinless being capable of receiving new revelation that we are all just supposed to accept without question.  Meyer is a typical example of the false teacher, claiming special gnostic insights, more reminiscent of Mohammad’s claims to revelation than anything remotely connected to true Christianity.  Even more tragic than Meyer’s arrogant delusions is the continued following she has amongst people who are clearly not Christians or so poorly grounded in the faith that they can fall for this nonsense.  There are clearly many churches failing to teach correct doctrine, otherwise Meyers foolish cant would be recognised for the garbage it is.

The pastor’s list of Meyer’s false teachings follows.. Each is accompanied by a Meyer quote.  To read the full text of the article go to: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/pastor-rick-henderson/osteen-meyer-prosperity-gospel_b_3790384.html

1. She teaches that Jesus literally stopped being the Son of God on the Cross: “He could have helped himself up until the point where he said I commend my spirit into your hands, at that point he couldn’t do nothing for himself anymore. He had become sin, he was no longer the Son of God. He was sin.”

2. She teaches that Jesus went to Hell and became the first-born again man: “Do you know something? The minute that blood sacrifice was accepted Jesus was the first human being that was ever born again. Now that was real it happened when he was in hell.”

3. She teaches that Jesus paid for our sins in Hell: “There is no hope of anyone going to heaven unless they believe this truth I am presenting. You cannot go to heaven unless you believe with all your heart that Jesus took your place in hell” -From The Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make

4. She teaches that words have power and you can release the power of Heaven through your words.

5. She teaches that you need special revelation from God to understand what she teaches because it is NOT contained in the Bible: “The Bible can’t even find any way to explain this. Not really. That’s why you’ve got to get it by revelation. There are no words to explain what I’m telling you. I’ve got to just trust God that He’s putting it into your spirit like He put it into mine.”

6. She teaches that she is no longer a sinner.

End times- a new article

Given the continued rise of globalisation, technological advances, increasing anti-Semitism and the Western world’s rejection of its Christian heritage, it appears humanity is rushing headlong towards the last seven-year period described in the Book of Revelation. In a new article headed Future (End times) History Drawing Closer Still Truth Watch provides its own summary of how the final seven years of this current historical era may play out.

We start by listing the things we know for certain. These are the events clearly described in biblical prophecy – the return of Israel, the Antichrist, the false prophet and the mark of the beast, the seven seals, the bowl judgements and the seven trumpets, etc…  We focus on the prophecies of Zechariah 12, Daniel 9 and Matthew 24. We speculate on what may happen around events once the Antichrist secures his false peace. We also delve into the debate around the rapture because it relates specifically to the Church.

The article is driven by the parable of the ten bridesmaids in Matthew 25 because it confirms the Church will be overtaken by events it has ignored, despite their prominence in Scripture. In the parable the Church is asleep, just as in the Song of Solomon (5:2-8) the Church is depicted as unprepared for Jesus return. Truth Watch exists because we are aware the Church has fallen into a stupor induced by false prophets and teachers. Our love for our brothers and sisters compels us to sound the watchman’s alarm even if few will listen. One day many in the Church are going to awake to find they have been left behind, because they failed to embrace and hold to biblical truth. The future history article is designed to jostle sleeping Christians into wakefulness.

If you think biblical predictions concerning a one world government and a one world leader are merely symbolic or allegorical consider these comments from these prominent one-world elitists, before going to the future history piece in our Articles section

We must move as quickly as possible to a one world government, a one world religion and a one world leader.” Robert Muller, former U.N. Assistant Secretary General.

What we want is a man of sufficient stature to hold the allegiances of the people and to lift us out of the economic morass into which we are sinking. Send us such a man and be he god or devil we will receive him.” Paul Henri Spaak, first President of the U.N. General Assembly.

Stages to Apostasy

Churches seldom start bad; they just seem to go bad.  In our article – Seven Stages to Apostasy Truth Watch traces the degeneration from good church to bad church. If we are in the ‘end times’ ( we almost certainly are) we can expect many churches to have been infiltrated by false doctrines and false teachers. If you have concerns about your church then read through the seven stages and determine where your church lies on the continuum. If your sober reflection leads you to the conclusion your church is headed towards apostasy then try to do something about it.  Admonish and teach – as it says in Colossians 3:16.  Of course, don’t expect to be well received.  You will have a battle on your hands. If your church is at Stage 7, LEAVE.

Robert Schuller Revisited

Our original Robert Schuller profile has been re-published under our leader profiles.  Schuller was the archetypal false leader for many years and fooled many with his deceptions.  By posting the profile, written 10 years ago, Truth Watch is highlighting the fact that false leaders are usually easy to spot for Christians properly founded on Scripture.  The more recent collapse of his Crystal Cathedral ministry vindicates Truth Watch’s position.
